Signed Sound-Speed Deformations of BSk24-Anchored Barotropes: Neutron-Star Response

Ioannis Papathanasiou, sole author · arXiv:2608.23033v1 [nucl-th] · submitted · cross-listed in astro-ph.HE · 19 pages, 10 figures, 6 tables.

A controlled study of how signed local sound-speed changes propagate through thermodynamic reconstruction and central-state relocation into a mass-dependent, nonlinear, sign-asymmetric neutron-star response. The effective barotropes are not BSk24 predictions or evidence for a microscopic composition or phase transition.

Public preprint; not peer reviewed, not a journal publication or journal-accepted work. No journal submission is planned.

Machine Learning Classification of Neutron Star Composition

A synthetic compact-star model-discrimination study examined in February 2026 (10/10). The examined thesis is distinct from the later methodological redevelopment and from the BSk24 preprint.
